Who is Mike Daly?
Michael has been in the travel industry for over thirty years, starting as a front desk manager at the Del Mar Inn while he was in college. He has always loved sports & travel and officially started his travel career at United Airlines in 1994 after a brief stint with the New York Mets. He learned the travel ropes while at United and was lucky to be part of the early days at GetThere, Travelocity Business, and Rearden Commerce.
More recently, he helped grow Freebird and Deem in the corporate travel space as SVP Sales and VP of Strategic Partnerships, until their acquisitions by Capital One and Enterprise Holdings, respectively. In late 2019, Michael joined Serko as their VP of Sales to help grow the company globally with an emphasis on the Americas and EMEA.
Despite his long tenure in the industry, he still considers himself a student and always looks for ways to enhance his knowledge. He frequently speaks at industry events, including the GBTA Convention, and our local chapters, and has spoken at ACTE, ProcureCon, Phocuswright, and BusinessConnect.
He also volunteers his time as the Chair of the GBTA Tech Committee, a Founding Board Member of TAMStravel.org, the Program Manager for WINIT’s Technology Pillar. Not only does Michael get involved inside the travel industry, but also outside of it. Where he has supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the YMCA, and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
